MondoCon 2014: Designing Movies Panel
This past weekend at the inaugural MondoCon in Austin, Texas, a Designing Movies panel took place that featured several renowned concept artists (William Stout, Jock, Bernie Wrightson, Alex Pardee, Mike Mignola, and Geof Darrow) discussing the process of conceptualizing the iconic imagery that we see on-screen.
At this panel, concept art was displayed from several films including X-Men: Days of Future Past that featured images of mutant character ideas that did not make the final cut for the film. Simply titled HK Project (which was the working title for the film when they began filming in Montreal last year), one of the images included three unused concepts titled “Mutant Idea A”, “Mutant Idea B”, and “Mutant Idea C” from artist Jock. Take a look.
