WHAT THE JUNK IS GOING ON?!!!
So…what the junk IS really going on?! Welp, so far, our Lumberjanes have seen a BEARWOMAN, fought a vicious gang of three-eyed foxes, battled river monsters, discovered a cave slide, braved an underground temple of obstacles and solved the mystery of “the kitten holy”. What is this “kitten holy”, you ask…well, clearly you haven’t read issues 1 – 3. What in the Joan Jett are you doing? Stop. Go to your local comic store. Buy them. Read them. Then come back and finish reading my review. Just kidding. But seriously…..
Okay. Issue 4. So, true to form, the next installment of Lumberjanes is every bit as colorful, exciting, humorous, and whimsical as the first three. The girls finally convince Jen to take them on a hike, and of course, immediately sneak off to pursue other adventures. Hilarity ensues, and we are introduced to even more crazy creatures and mischievous camp hijinks…not the least of which include Yetis (with curly mustaches!!!), an uncomfortable bout with poison ivy, and a suspiciously helpful group of boy scouts. Action, adventure, puns…you get the gist. The only bad thing about this book? I have to wait to see what happens next!!!
Noelle Stevenson and Grace Ellis write with a delightfully quirky sense of humor and the story moves at a quick pace making it enjoyable and entertaining for all ages. I love the exaggeration and “animated” expressions of Brooke Allen’s artwork. It perfectly matches the playful and adventurous tone of the story, and Maarta Laibo’s colors only further accentuate these qualities. So, in summation….BUY IT!!! Also: I want a “Pungeonmaster Badge”
Action, adventure, puns.......you get the gist
Why can't this be bi-weekly?
