My Thoughts on the Upcoming Third Installment of the Popular Franchise from Gearbox Software & 2K Australia.
SQUEEEEEEE!!!!! If you didn’t know the Borderlands franchise has another amazing game coming to your face this year, and this time we’re going to the freaking moon! Low gravity and the ability to freeze people are just a few of the exciting things we have to look forward to when we get to experience what led Handsome Jack to become the psychotic villain everybody loved to hate in Borderlands 2.
In this installment we get to see what transpired after the opening of the vault in Borderlands 1 and the Hyperion takeover in Borderlands 2. Once again we have the choice of picking one of four playable characters, but this time they are anything but heroes. In fact a lot of them have given us some serious shit in our previous endeavors.
Nisha “The Lawbreaker” – We got our first glance at Nisha in Borderlands 2 simply known then as the Sheriff of Lynchwood. She is a duel wielding cowgirl who is sure to bring the pain with increased gun damage.
Athena “The Gladiator” – Our first encounter with Athena took place in The Secret Amory of General Knoxx DLC for Borderlands 1. She is going to be seriously helpful to any team with her shield that has the ability to absorb damage that can then be used as a weapon.
Wilhelm “the Enforcer” – Remember fighting Wilhelm in Borderlands 2 as Handsome Jack’s menacing robot. In the new game he is still human (kind of) and you have the ability to make him more robotic and also control his two turrets that both fight for and protect the team.
Claptrap “The Fragtrap” – If you have even looked at a Borderlands game you are aware of the often hilarious, slightly annoying, self-loathing robot that has become sort of a symbol of the series itself. In this game he becomes a playable character with the unique ability to use many former action skills of previous characters. The catch is you don’t always know which one he is going to use, so you have to be able to adapt quickly to any situation.
Playthroughs and skill tree break downs for all characters are up online. All are worth watching so you can see how amazing this game is going to be. Borderlands the Pre-Sequel is out October 14th, I will see all you Slabs there!!
